What oil mix for my T20

Shindaiwa T20 string trimmer. Don't know the year. Found a manual that says 25to1 .
Hoping I can run 50-1

And you want one of us to say it's OK to do something that the manual does not recommend?

Mix 6.4 ounces to a gallon. Old 2-stroke equipment manual specs were based on oil available at the time. Todays oils contain additives and refinements that reduce the required oil level substantially. But I'd still go by the manual.

I run Stihl HP Ultra in all my two stroke equipment regardless of the oil ratio recommended by the manufacturer. But, my older stuff that requires a really rich mixture is quite old so I'm not concerned about damage so I go for the convenience of one batch of oil/fuel mix for everything.

Try going to the shindaiwa web site and type in your model number.

I'm not familiar with it but as a guess: 1995. Perhaps there's a plate on the trimmer that shows the year.

I would think the model number and/or the serial number would be needed to find out when it was made.
