Craftsman Weed Eater String Not Sticking

Hi everyone. I was hoping to get some input in a string replacement issue on my Craftsman WC2200 I bought this summer.
So i didn't really have an issue the first time (and maybe the second time) I re-strung the trimmer, but I cannot get it to work this time.

I understand that you're supposed to line up the bump head arrow and the arrow on the main head and stick the string in a few inches.
But from a youtube video i saw, the string is supposed to stick and not pull out once it goes in far enough.
My problem is that now matter how short or how far i stick the string in, the string always just pulls right out with minimal effort.
It's causing the string to just unwind with any amount of twisting the head does when revving up the trimmer.

As far as i know, the head isn't depressed or anything that would let the string just come out.
I'm not sure if my head is messed up already or if i'm just doing something wrong.
Can someone advise if this is a common issue with the trimmer or just a string replacement issue?

 

Are you using the correct size line?

I've seen some heads where the line does stick in the hole but on others and with different profile line but other do slip out easily. I push in on the line and start turning/winding and the turns on the drum help hold the line in place.

 

What does owners manual say about replacing line?

 

Pilot Dane I'm not exactly sure, but i think i bought Shakespeare .095 in. I got from Lowe's with the last trimmer i had. And i actually just checked the manual for the line specs and it says it takes Hassle Free Xtra Quiet Spiral Line 0.110 in.
Well, that may be the first thing to get right i guess. Lol. I just assumed any line would work.

I found the actual product page on Craftsman's website, and it specifically lists on the page that it can feed .095 inch line?

Before I was just searching google for WC2200, the model shown on the trimmer, and manual. But i'm not sure if it's the right manual or not because it was a direct link. But this is directly from the product page.

 

You can run smaller diameter line but it might not be gripped in the line holder holes when winding.

 

This is true. I'm going to run it by Craftsman customer support, and hope there's no big issue with the head itself or the spool that is used.

 

Alright. So i feel like a moron. The line is the right size i found, but i wasn't twisting the bump head the right direction.
I was supposed to feed the line and twist the bump head COUNTER CLOCKWISE, and i was twisting it Clockwise while depressing the bump head (because that's the only way it will twist clockwise)
So i just wasn't twisting the bump head the right way in the first place. My bad, and should've checked the simple things first.
