No fuel to Briggs Toro 20065 mower

Should I get enough fuel digging in there from a few pulls of the rope?

It starts with carb cleaner but won't keep going and I'm not able to get a Q-tip wet.

I gave it a quick cleaning, used a wire in all the holes I could poke and cleaned the bowl and the needle jet which I assume works since it's not overflowing into the carb throat right?

I confirmed I got fuel to the bowl.

What would be the most likely culprit here blocking fuel to carb throat? Also I just installed a new primer bulb and I can't pull anything but air from it. Not sure what that means

The primer bulb on those Briggs do nothing but pump air into the bowl to force fuel up the nozzle if the bowl gasket leaks or the gasket between the airfilter cover leaks the primer is useless. Have a good one. Geo

Primer bulb not pulling gas when operated means there is a check valve in the choke path not working or the gas line from the tank has a hole in it above the gas level. The check valve could be just a plastic disc.

Beezelbuz so this check valve, seems like it's internal yes? The hole that the bulb leads to I can only poke a little. Where does it lead to exactly? I should probably get some compressed air on yes?

Was able to get it going as usual with carb cleaner though and mow the lawn. Just a pain to have to do that every time

geogrubb ah...so not like the trimmers that pull fuel into the carb, so it seems to me at least.

Yeah, no leaking with this. Just not sure if it's pushing fuel into the throat. I'll have to check next time I mow...

This is from post 1."It starts with carb cleaner but won't keep going.......". This is from post 4. "Was able to get it going as usual with carb cleaner though and mow the lawn." What is the current status of the engine running once started?

Beezelbuz worked great yesterday. I'll have to test it out next time. But I have yet to start it with out carb cleaner. Not sure what I did or if it just needed a little coaxing. I added a gasket in the front I didn't have on before which may have helped the primer bulb but that didn't seem to work but idk for sure

If the gasket between the air filter housing and carb isn't in good condition, it won't prime. If the bowl gasket is in bad condition, that will also keep it from priming.

The primer pushes air through the tiny hole in the filter cover gasket into the carb bowl, which pressurizes the bowl just enough for a small blip of fuel to come up out of the emulsion tube into the throat of the carb. If that small amount of pressure leaks out of either of those areas, the carb won't prime.

Some times the air filter housing will get warped and you will need to use 2 gaskets between the housing and the carb, they can be very finicky. Have a good one. Geo
