throttle assembly for 6.5 hp ohv tecumseh yard machine log splitter

It appears the tab has sheared off the engine block that the throttle linkage uses. First picture is what it should be. Second picture is my engine. Any ideas on how to fix? Then once fixed please confirm where end of spring goes.

The first picture... which I assume is not your machine.... shows the entire carb.
The second picture just shows parts.
If we can't see your carb.... we can't make recommendations.
The model number off the engine would help us to recommend the proper part.

If that shaft that comes out of the side of the engine is gone, then it will take engine removal and disassembly to repair.

Weld on a new peg?

Do you think a new peg/shade can be welded on, it's pretty small. My son's an iron worker and could try. Seem a pretty frail part for the whole engines fuel supply to rely upon.

I'm sure it's possible but the chance of success is low. The governor probably came apart in the engine now if it was running like this, but you never know.

Peg pushed into engine block

The peg pushed all the way into the engine block. We used a screw into the hole to hold the throttle linkage assembly. Seems to work now. Probably need to replace fuel filter as it is still running rough. Thanks for the help.
