Oil & Gas Mixture ???

Just bought a New Weed Trimmer. Our old Trimmer ran on a (40 to1) Mixture and the New one runs on a (50 to1) mixture.. Question is it a Big Difference in performance ??

i would think following the manufacturers recommended gas/oil blend would provide the best tool performance. Why are you comparing apples to oranges?

A couple of my 2 cycles state the ratio as somewhere between 25:1 to 50:1. I really doubt the slight difference between 40 and 50:1 (0,6 oz) would make any difference,

I'd follow the manufacturer's instruction. Mixing 50:1 doesn't take more effort than 40:1 and you can get pre-measured bottles.

I agree to mix as suggested.

Too much oil will make it smoke more, due to burning too much oil. You get fouled plugs & bad performance.

Too little oil is less lubrication. That's not good.

You can take your 40:1 and figure how much more gas to add & just add it to equal 50:1 mixture. I know we got a couple of math guru's here or I am sure there are charts online.

I'm assuming you have a partial can of 40:1 mixed fuel and are asking if you can run it. Yes. Use up your old fuel and then mix to the new mixture specs.

Beelzebob / Apples To Oranges

In the words of the Dealer I bought the Weed Trimmer from after I had gone through the Assembly & Operations Manual.. It's less than Steller.. (Ducar is the Brand Name).. The New Trimmer being a larger CC size, I was reading on oneside 50:1 Gas & Oil Mix and on the otherside 40:1 Gas & Oil Mix.. My side of the 49th we are Litres not Gallons, Canada 4.54 Litres to U.S. 3.78 Litres per gallon.. The Short end of it 40:1 is the Suggested Mix.. Cheers Thank You..

I was questioning your correlation of different oil/gas ratios to performance. Oil/gas ratios use same units of volume in both the numerator and denominator so the units of volume cancel resulting in only a fraction number. What are your units of performance?
