uneven cut on craftsman riding mower

I have a craftsman riding mower just little over a year old and it is cutting the grass uneven. what do i need to look for this is my first riding mower?

Check all the pivot points, sliding brackets, missing, bent, damaged or loose parts on the deck.

Check for a low tire or a bent blade first. These are the most common causes of uneven cutting. Most craftsmans, but not all, have a horizontal bracket on both sides of the deck, slightly above the deck that can break or come off. Check that, there is a bolt that runs vertically through that bracket at the center with a nut at the bottom. That nut adjusts the cutting height on that side. Tighten it to raise the deck and visa-versa. Hope that helps.
