No spark on my Homelite UT20683gas trimmer. Sparkplug replaced, kill switch ohms out good. 24 volts A.C. measured at sparkplug boot when electric start is cranked. Still no spark. Is this the correct voltage? What else should I be checking?

Hello: Ken S

Sounds like you did rather will attempting to locate and isolate the problem thus far. I doubt it would be the spark modual or magneto but it could be.

Try this first:
Bypass the kill switch with a jumper wire. Try starting the engine. If it starts, the switch is faulty. Use the choke to kill the engine, if it starts.

Using the ohm meter, check for the possibility of grounds within the wiring and at the connection terminals.
