Gas flowing out of carb

After filling the tank, gasoline began flowing out of the carburetor (where the air filter attaches) of my Tecumseh 4-cycle powerwasher small engine. If this is a common problem that whose diagnosis is clear, I may give it a try. Otherwise, I'll probably just take it in.

I last used it in March. It worked fine then. When I took it out to use again, the tank was empty (it all leaked out I guess).

Any ideas? Stuck float?

Thanks very much!

I would say either that or a stuck needle/seat assembly causing it to just flow out.

Might be time for a carb knockdown and rebuilding.....

Could be a small piece of debris, sticky hinge
pin, float that has started filling with fuel,
or just a worn seat. All in the same area and
easy to fix. A new needle and seat are only a
couple of bucks, and a new float, if needed, is
not much more.
