Question

I have a Craftsman riding mower with a Kohler 14hp engine (Command Series). My problem is this, everytime I turn the key all I hear is a click. I replaced the battery and also the fuel soleniod. The engine does not attemp to turn over. Do you think I need a starter or could it be something else??

Assuming you've checked the battery and connections , Check the power to the starter when you've turned the key. If no power, check the white wire to the starter solenoid for power when the key is turned. If power is there, then the starter solenoid is bad. On a craftsman, it is usually located under the dash panel, on the right hand side. If there is no power to the white wire, you have a safety switch problem, or a bad ignition switch. It won't start if the blade switch or pedal switch is defective. Let us know what you find.
