Snowblower with Tecumseh won't fire
I have a John Deere 524 Walkbehind snowblower with a Tecumseh HSSK 50, 5hp, 4 stroke engine. I haven't run it since last year and it won't fire.
Things I've tried:
When I pull the starter it turns the engine over but it doesn't seem to fire. If I loosen the spark plug and start it, I can see it spark.
Starter fluid in the carb causes a high-pitched (almost) squeal while the engine turns over until the starting fluid is spent and then it justs turns over without firing again.
Things I've tried:
- New Spark Plug and verified that it sparks (ruled out ignition)
- Fuel is flowing freely to the carb.
- Verified engine is not flooded
- Took apart carb - not sure what to look for

I am not real familiar with your engine, but it
sounds like you have a leaking head gasket
causing the noise. Just checking the head bolts
for tightness might confirm this. If some are loose
remove the head and inspect the old gasket,
and replace if neccesary. If so, let us know and
whe can look up the torque specs for you.
