What make, model, and HP rating is the engine? Your carburetor probably needs cleaning.

Hello and Welcome jet44 to our Do-It-Yourself Web Site and our Small Engine forum.

Cheese is very correct. The most likely problem is a gummed up carb and fuel system. The entire fuel system should be cleaned and flushed out and the carb too.

Kindly provide more detailed information about the engine. Knowing it's brand, age and type would help us determine what type of carb is on the engine.

Use the reply button to add the additional information.

Thanks,
