leaking fuel

I recently took apart and cleaned the carbuerator on my Tecumseh push lawn mower. After putting everything back together and filling the gas tank I now get leaking gas from a hole in the middle of the primer bulb. Gas also leaks from the air intake filter. Could the problem be with the float inside the bowl? Also, should the primer bulb have a hole in the middle? I never recalled seeing one until this mishap. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can be one of several things. Since we can't see the carb. it is always best to post model and spec. no of the engine. I can be a leaky inlet needle, a misadjust float, trash in the inlet needle and seat area, and a hole in the float. Later Butch
