How to remove transaxle pully?

Can anyone please tell me how to remove the pully from the
transaxle. On a craftsman 42" lawn tractor. I removed the
snap ring from off the top and tried pulling it off with a puller
But the dam thing will not budge.

It should pull right off the shaft. If you can't get it, try spraying it with PB Blaster penetrating oil, let it sit a few hours, and try to tap it up and down until it begins to move. You may have to heat the center of the pulley around the shaft to get it loose.

You say "should" how sure are you, cause I let it soak overnight,
and steel will not budge, if you are sure about this, then I will
get it off, If not I need to no? Thank You

Yes....if it had a snap ring on it, then it pulls of the shaft. If you need to get inside the transaxle, you can leave it on and remove the top half of the unit with the pulley attatched. Be careful if you begin using hard pressure to remove it. The aluminum case for the transaxle is thin and will break fairly easily when force is applied. Double check to be sure there is no set screw holding the pulley but I've never seen one used on an AYP mower (AYP makes craftsman 42" mowers)
