Question Battery connections

Could anyone tell me what is the best thing to use on battery terminal connections that will help with the corrosion problem on riding lawnmowers?

When I install a new battery, I sometimes use liquid electrical tape to coat the entire post, cable end, and nut & bolt. This seems to stop the corrosion from starting. If the corrosion has already started, there is probably not much that you can do to stop it, as the lead posts of the battery absorb the acid. I have neutralized the corrosion with a mixture of water and baking soda. This will clean the connections. You may be able to coat the connections with liquid elec. tape after cleaning them to slow down the corrosion. It can be bought at most automotive and boating supply stores.
