Taping

When removing tape after painting, do you wait for the paint to dry or do you take it off while it is wet?

fewalt has the way to go. It's tricky at first, and a paint shield can help at edges and trim, but a quality brush and learning to cut in saves alot of time in the long run. And yes, if you are doing painting two coats the tape is going to peel the paint and chip off dried paint from the first coat onto the second.
Give it a shot, that's what closets are for.

remove before paint cures
If you wait for the paint to cure, you will end up pulling part of the paint off as well.
Lordecor - the answer is simple: either retape or live count on touching up the areas tht were damaged when you removed the tape. You could cut the paint film with a razor blade before removing the tape.
Easiest of course, is as fewalt says. Learn to d oit without tape.
