Paint Galvanized ?

Just had an air conditioner cover made from 26 gauge galvanized. $85 for 30x21x15...........17 pounds

Was told to wipe it down with vinegar to etch/clean it before painting.

I have interior/exterior enamel spray primer and paint.

Any suggestions if this will work or not.

Thanks

I first would determine if that particular primer can be used on galvinized metal. If not, find a primer that can and paint away. Check the label or visit the local paint store and ask for the appropriate primer.

paint

There are several products tha t you can use to prime and or paint. I recommend a product called galva prep or something like it. They can also be tinted as dark as a med. gray to give you a head start on your color. Sherwin Williams has 2 products that I know of that will work.

Galvanized

I had the same problem oh dear maybe 15 years ago. At that time they told me just to wait a while before I painted it to match the house. I think they said wait 6 months but I'm not positive.
