Interior Painting

Is there something that you can add to interior paint that gives the paint some texture? We do not want to texture our walls with plaster, but would like to give our walls some character with some texture in the paint. Any information will be helpful.

Lightbulb Not sure if this will help...

A few years ago I was buying paint for everything and came across paint with a sand like substance in it. It was an indoor paint for walls, but I got it for my back porch, as to prevent any slips. It gives a surface with a tad of texture, but not huge lumps and bumps. The only other thing I can think of is to try to paint with shadows & highlights to give the appearance of texture. Not as easy as it sounds! Try one of the faux paint techniques, after reading up on the drifferent ones. HTH!
