Question Kid's Bedroom

I'm currently trying to complete my boy's bedroom with ceiling design of clouds. The color base is a sky like blue and I've started the design using a sea sponge and white paint. however, I'm lacking the technique or pattern to make the cloud design look more like a cloud. My wife and I are really set on the design we saw in a magazine, but my first try has shown otherwise. Can you help?

PS. I'm using flat paint for the clouds. Your help will be appriciated!

I tried this once in my own home, not for a client. I also used flat paint and a sea sponge. When I applied cloud paint to ceiling, I would do one cloud, wait a couple of minutes, then took a slightly damp cloth and rubbed over it in a circular motion. This softened the look, made the clouds appear more wispy and realistic. Looked pretty good to me. Try to master this technique on a piece of drywall or basement wall or somewhere else before trying on the ceiling. If you want, you can email me at [email protected] and I can send a pic of the finished look.

Hope this helped
