Re-painting a tile table

Well, I have one of those kitchen table with the tiles on it (green) and the matching wood/legs and back painted green chairs. These table are pretty common, I've seen a lot of white tile tables like mine. We are moving to a new house and the green just does not match. I want to paint the chairs white as well as the tile on the table but I'm not sure if I can just paint over these tiles. I still want to be able to wipe the table with a cloth after eating on it. I'm not sure how to go about doing this - - anyone have any advice for me? (what kind of paint to use - anything I should do to the tiles before I paint over them - -etc.)
Thank you!
Leah

Ceramic tiles have a glass finish, consequently, nothing will stick to them. Unless the surface is etched, I doubt that anything, including epoxy will stay. I have seen ceramic tile painted and it always fails unless it is etched.

These links may be helpful. I cannot vouch for them.

These folks say they have something better. I don't know.
