advice Needed
I live in an aparment on the first floor recently the upstairs appt flooded and damaged my ceiling in bathroom, it was repaired then they retextured the ceiling as this is how it was i am now getting mold ect on celing above tub, this was never a problem before i am thinking that mabe after they sprayed ceiling it should have been painted with an oil base paint or mabe something added to the texture material before it was sprayed? any advice or ideas greatly appreaceated thanks in advance

Mildew and mold will grow anywhere that conditions are right. Can you kill it by spraying it with a solution of 25% bleach in water? If so, that will take care of it.
You can prime over it to seal in the stain and paint. Be sure you have adequate ventilation in you bathroom to keep moisture to a minimum.

Hello lostoutwest, I would say that the repairs could have been done before the area above the bath was completely dry. Once dry a coat or two of an oil primer like KILZ Original or better Zinsser BIN followed by paint of your choice should work.....Mike
