Spackle spots too smooth...

I removed the wallpaper, and repaired some drywall, my problem is the paint is too smooth in the places that I repaired. the rest of the paint has that orange peel look from years of painting, but my repairs are nice and smooth. Any ideas on how to make the repaired areas take on an orange peel effect?

Ok this is how you do it. Take some joint compound and water it down a bit. Then dip a paint brush in the watered down compound so that it has compound on the bristles. Hold the brush near the area bristles up. Then flick the compound on the smooth area randomly. Not very scientific and takes some practice. Once you achieved your desired "splatter" let it dry prome and paint. Hope this helps.

Well, I tried it and came to the conclusion that I suck at it. HAHA But, I can see the effect it gives, so practice, practice, practice.
