priming and painting over purple

We're readying our house for sale and plan to repaint complete. One room has burgundy eggshell latex paint on the walls.

We've opted for a less, shall we say, dramatic colour. I'm curious as to whether or not wer're going to be painting multiple coats of primer to hide the burgundy/purple colour. New colour will be an 0ff-white with a touch of wheat.

Thanks.

A coat of good primer such as Zinsser 123 tinted toward the final color should enable you to cover this satisfactorily, possibly with one coat.
