whiteTac stain on paint

Here's a post in cleaning:

QUOTE: "Oops.
The whitetac was used on a newly painted wall by an ignorant son and now there are small patches of oil marks."

What are the possibilities of fixing this? Not sure yet what type paint was used, but this product is to hang things on glass or non-porous materials (posters, etc).

Here's the link to thread if anyone can help out.

I didnt check out the link but i think i no what the product is from you discription. You might try some 409 or glass cleaner to see if it will dry out the oil, left behind.A dab of minerial spirits on a rag might also do the trick but dont get carried away as it to may leave a oily spot behind.I recently slashed some on a finished wall of a house and was amased it dryed out completely. But it may have been just dumb luck.

But what ever you do be careful while washing/rubbing it!!!!!!! It may wash the paint off the wall, even the highest quality flat wall paints will wash off,if rubbed enough. Its the chalky finish that makes it flat,it also makes it absorbant. So just rub it a few strokes at the time and let it dry, before trying something else or more rubbing.

If nothing works you will have to kiltz the spots and repaint. The painter may drop off some touch up paint for you.I would! As long as you where willing to fix it your self,id give you plenty, free. But then that may just be me,im not a people person so the less i see/deal with the home owner the better i like it.
Good luck!
