Painting over high gloss paint with finish to it.

I taped my kitchen wall with thin masking tape and used a high gloss paint with an acrylic finish. The project did not turn out as I had hoped and we are in the process of selling our house. How do I prep the wall to repaint it? I am afraid the "grout" lines from the tape will show up by simply painting over it and since the paint itself is so shiny, would I need to put a primer on it? We have the texture drywall, so I don't want to compromise that. Any advise will be helpful.

Thanks!!

To kill the tape line, sand lightly with some 180 - 220 grit sandpaper to taper the surfaces. Zinsser 123 will prep almost anything for painting.

Hope this helps.

yes - use a primer

Yes, primer it first. Use either the water-based kilz or one of the zinsser primers.
