Painting over aluminum siding

Can it be done without sanding and priming? Also, there are a few dimples in it. Is there a product that can fill these and be sanded like drywall mud? Thanks!!!

Auto body filler will fill the indentations in the aluminum. Prime and paint the aluminum siding after cleaning. Latex paint and primer will do well on aluminum.

Hope this helps.

Durion paint stores have a product called( sideing in a can).It made for sideing,as the name suggest.Just a tought,if you have one in your town.Ive seen the end results of it.It stuck with no primmer and is over three years old so far,and still holding its shine,it also covered in one coat..Im not sure if the product called for primer to be used or not but i do no the fellow didnt use any.

Just a tought!

how old?

can you let us know why your painting?
if it is chalky all you have to do it clean and paint with a satin acrylic and done

if shiny you can wash with tsp let dry and use 100 % acrylic

trust me

never paint if hot no strong sun out
overcast all day is perfect
