Unhappy Painting an alternating pattern

I am trying to paint my daughters bedroom in our house with an alternating stripe pattern of glossy and flat stripes. I am penciling the lines using a level but they are not coming out straight. Well, they look straight but wall to wall doesn't match up. Any suggestions on creating a level template for the project.

If you are, don't measure up from the floor on each wall. Measure one point and run your level line from there all the way around the room. The floor may not necessarily be level. A four foot level is helpful for long layouts. The small errors that can creep into the process are reduced by the greater length.

If you are going to use tape, you can 'adjust' for the fit to make it work by starting at the corner and pulling the entire length of the wall at once, tacking it down in the corner, and straightening it from there.

Hope this helps.
