priming drywall

I just finish drywalling in a new sunrrom. My husband said we could use old, unopen can of white wall paint we have used for the rest of the interior of the house as the primer for the drywall. This site gives the best advise so we trust your recommendations. Can we use this or should I get some Zinnger Primer?

Absolutely use a REAL primer. There is a significant difference. Zinser or Kilz make excellent primers.
