Unhappy removing old white wash of a ceiling

ceiling has been white washed then painted tried to paper it will not stick does anyone know of a easy way to remove old pain and white wash tried unibond still not sticking

Unfortunately, whitewash will have to be removed. Whitewash is not paint and bonds poorly to almost any surface. It is not durable.

Scrape off the old paint, which probably did not adhere too well, and wash with TSP or spic and span to clean the surface. Prime with a top quality primer - sealer, such as: Zinsser 123 and paint.
