Question Satin over Satin

Do I need to prep the walls in anyway to re-paint my kitchen walls?

I painted them about 3 weeks ago with a Behr Satin. The texture is great, but the color sucks! I know, I know, I should have bought a quart and tried it first.

I now have a different color, and it's a bit darker. I tested it in a few (1 inch square) areas and it covers well. It is NOT Behr, but a good quality anyway.

Should I scuff the walls to help the paint grab? Or can I just go ahead and paint the walls as if this were a third and fourth coat?

edited to say: Thanks for any/all advice!!

Go ahead and apply your new coat. It should do fine over the other fresh coat.

Hope this helps.

Behr satin is very close to semigloss. I'd lightly rough up the old paint first, then wipe it down.
