painting vaulted ceiling
have read similar articles youve posted about painting vaulted ceilings. my problem is similar to the person with the spiral staircase. my ceilings are vaulted at 18' and i want to repaint the ceiling and walls. the delimma has to do with the apex of the ceiling height. the design is such that the highest peak is directly over a staircase. i have looked at trying to prop a ladder against the wall, but there is no way to adequately get near enough (due to bannister) to trim out the walls or apply paint to the ceiling. is there an easier way to do this and not kill my neck and shoulders at the same time. have had surgery and would like to remain functional as long as possible. thanks for the help. j

the first thing that comes to mind are those brush holders that clamp onto the brush and screw into an extenda pole. However if you intend to paint the walls a different color than the ceiling, it is pretty difficult to do staight depending on the distance.
