Paint odors

We recently painted the floor in our basement with a latex floor paint and now we have a strong paint odor. It's too cold here to keep the windows open for any length of time. Is there a way that we can eliminate the odor?

Try setting up a couple fans down there to help it dissipate faster.

removing adhesive?

I recently moved into a new home. The downstairs bathroom had plastic tiles covering half the wall all the way around (they were painted). A couple had come loose and I decided to "pry" the rest off. I am now left with a lot of remaining glue/adhesive. Outside of using any harsh chemicals, any tips on how to remove this stuff? I'm currently using a putty knife and scraping/chipping away, but it's taking forever... Thanks in advance for your help!Read More

We recently leased (possible purchase in the future) an older home approximately 80 years old. The home is in great shape but desperately needs updating on the inside. The bathroom walls are 9 feet high, no vent or window, and the material used is a formica type , 50ish style plastic covering. The sheets are not glued down, they may be tacked in places. The seams are covered with a tin-like material. I have never seen anything like it before and it might have looked great way back when, it really is an eyesore now. Its white with gold starbursts. Can i paint over it?? I would rather not take it down and replace it with drywall at this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. leatherRead More
