Sandy painted wall removal

Hello,

When we moved into our home the bathroom was painted with a sandy texture on it. I want to redo the bathroom. How can I get the sandy texture off the walls. I was told that there is not wall paper behind the paint sandy mixture. That they removed the wall paper and primed the walls and then added the texture to the paint and painted the wall.

Help

Use a stiff 6" putty knife to scrape off the biggest pieces, then use sand paper to knock off the rest. If you cant get it all off that way, you might have to smooth out the walls with joint compound.
