Question paint removal

i am ready to tile my kitchen floor, but it has a coat of red with a coat of green paint on it. I first thought the paint was stuck on good enough that we would not have to get it off. But as i was cleaning the floor this morning, i had a couple of spots i took a razor blade to, and some of the paint started coming off. I know in the long run we will be better off to take the paint off now, instead of tiling over it, but is there an easier way that scraping 400 sq ft with a razer blade???

If chemicals don't scare you, paint stripper is the way to go.
