Painting walls

Could someone please explain a way for us to paint our walls two different colors. The ceiling is one color and the walls are another. How do you get a straight line between the two? We have tried to tape them, we tried to come down slightly from the ceiling with that color but nothing turns out even. What do the pros use? Thank you

Use a brush to cut in. Forget the tape. Us e a 21/2 or 3 inch flat brush. Do the opposite.. instead of coming down with the ceiling go up a hair onto the ceiling with the wall color
