Finish for pressure treated wood on porch.

On a screened in porch, parts of the wood I want to stain a semi-transparent stain, nothing solid like paint.

This porch does not get wet much at all, as it is pretty protected. Of course, I know it is outside and can get damp and dirty.

This is pressure treated, and has been built for three years. Can I clean this well, and apply an oil based stain without any other treatment, or do I seal it further with something? Or does it need some kind of pre-treatment?

Thanks.

If you use an exterior type semi-transparent alkyd stain, it should be fine. Be cautioned that making this type stain look even is pretty tough to do. If your cut-in is allowed to dry even the least amount, the roll on overlap will show big time. Assume for 2 coats. Spraying is the ideal way to apply semi-trans. stain.

Good luck.
