Unhappy fading two colors into each other???

Hi, I'm in the middle of redoing my bathroom. It's a sunset tropical theme that has bright orange paint on the lower two thirds and sunset pinkish red on the top. I want to fade them into each other but it's no going so well so I'd LOVE any suggestions that anyone might have. Please help, I'm desprate!

I would use faux glaze and mix it into either color and stagger the coats going up or down depending on which color you want more of. Say you add it to the bottom color using a large brush or pad painter bring the color up then overlay it with another coat but not as high up then another coat but not as high up, etc. This will feather it up lighter and lighter. The glaze will be somewhat transparent. I would try 2/3 glaze to 1/3 paint. practice on scrap cardboard to get the idea. Also adding to the top color down would make it more even. lol .........jeff
