What type of roller is best?

I am painting a few rooms in our house, and I've had a hard time avoiding using two coats or having some of the old white paint sneaking through. I tried to buy the most expensive rollers to improve the coverage, but I haven't had much luck. What is the best roller to use for painting over white paint on medium texture? Are there any other tips for improving the coverage?

Use a 3/4" nap, and don't over work it. Keep it wet, and after getting about 10 feet down a wall, go back and roll over it again with a roller that isn't loaded with paint. Its called backrolling.
