Flat paint on wood trim???
We are moving into a house in a few weeks and have a list of several things to do. We will be starting with my girls' bedroom which will be painted with Benjamin Moore in a flat pink shade. My wife also purchased BM Regal Flat paint in a white tint to do the guest bedroom with and she wants me to paint the TRIM in the girls bedroom with this color as well. I have never liked the look of flat paint on wood trim, but wanted to know of the ups and downs of doing this. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

functionally, flat would probably work fine, although semi-gloss or gloss will clean up better.
aesthetically, flat paint on trim just looks wrong (ie cheap), in my opinion. buy semi-gloss or gloss for the trim. it just looks better. and it's the way it's usually done.

It would seem to me that if you are going to do all the work of painting the trim a different color (white) why would'nt you use semigloss? As PWG says the vacuum, etc. will mark it up and you won't be able to clean it as well. The added cost of the paint would be minor next to doing the work.
