Question Recommendations for sealing acrylic paint

My wife has used acrylic craft paint on some primed plywood to make some outdoor Christmas decorations. Since they'll be exposed to the elements, they need to be sealed. Can anyone recommend an appropriate sealer? I'm leaning toward a polyurethane sealer but would like the input of your experts. Thanks for your time & wisdom!

An exterior or marine grade spar varnish would be my 1st choice. 2 + coats for best durability. Concentrate on the edges, this is where water will seep in and cause warpage.

For the next outdoor project, use exterior grade plywood. A better choice is marine grade plywood. Yes they cost a little more, but they can stand up to the elements with minimal care.
