Matching old finish

I have bought a replacement fir door to replace the exterior side door on our house. The old door (and the rest of the woodwork in the house) has an orange shellac finish which has aged 90-100 years. How do I go about trying to get this new fir door to match the house's woodwork? Also, there are places around the house where the finish has worn thin, such as on the stair railing and on window sills. Can I just apply new coats of orange shellac and is there a more durable finish I could or should use in addition?

I would Suggest you Visit your Local Professional Paint Store, The place contractors go to get thier paint products. they may be able to match up a stain color close to the aged door that will blend in better. We do this all the time up here for our customers, What ever you do don't go to a home center, these places do not have the skills or expertise to handle your situation.
