Question

Please help!!! The previous owners have stuck a 12" deep border all around a painted plaster wall. Getting the border off was OK but there is some nasty glue residue left which seems impervious to most household solvents. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would love to get away without sanding as the border was at waist height and if the sanding goes wrong it will be very evident. Thanks in advance.

Funny, when the newer products fail one way that always works is a steamer, even if something like Sure-Stic 88 was used. When vinegar, and enzyme removers just won't cut it use steam.

You might try "Goof Off" or Xylene. This stuff is potent. It will clean dried latex with little elbow grease.
