What is the procedure for painting hot water baseboard heat registers? After a drastic paint job on a room, the registers must be transformed!

I believe your registers are currently powder coated unless previosly painted. If they are the original surface the you must use a glass etching cream to make the surface chaulk like. You can get it any Hobby store. Armour etch makes a good one.Rinse with baking soda and water. PPG the Parent company of Pittsburg makes a product called PITTECH. It is a water based aliphatic acrylic urethane used in harsh chemical enviorments. It is a single stage urethane and can be brushed or
sprayed. You can visit their site at http://www.ppg.com
PPG will have a coating for just about any surface.
