Question

I just peeled the wallpaper off the bathroom and found the walls are made of cardboard (very thin cardboard). What can I do to these walls to paint them or should I put wallpaper back up? I notice there is a lot of wallpaper in this house, so I have a feeling there are a lot of cardboard walls. Don't tell me to replace all the walls. That is not an option.

You asked the question, but I won't give you the answer that you don't want to hear.

I might recommend covering with an inexpensive paneling (if there is such a thing).

I think you'll find that drywall is the cheapest route to take. I hesitate to recomend anything else because I can't see you house from here. I don't know how bad of shape the walls really are.
