What is the best way to strip paint from the wall and window trim? I want to stain the wood but it is painted right now. Do I have to pry the wood off the walls to strip it similar to furniture or do I just strip by mechanical means?

It would be easier to strip if it would come off the wall but most of the time we don't get that lucky.Try driving the nails that hold the trim through the wood as far as you can. This will help as you try to pull it off.If it will not come off I think you have the concept.........

You can certainly strip the wood in place with a good chemical remover. I would suggest PEEL AWAY 7 for your project
