Question

I want to use a paint technique called ragging. I have seen that you can use newspaper to create the same technique as a rag. Would I need to use a special paint glaze when doing this. and have you ever seen this done? Any suggestions would be extremely helpful!!

I've not tried it with newspaper. I use a chamois.

There are many ways to remove the glaze. Test the technique on scrap drywall.

One observation on faux painting. If you mess up, no one will ever notice. ;-)

To add to BobF's reply, you can use any paint or glaze to rag finish. Many tools can be used to rag off a finish including plastic grocery bags, garbage bags and about anything else you can think of. As BobF said, the key is to practice beforehand and get an idea what to expect.

ragging is great, fun and no one will notice if you make a mistake- a word of caution though-
using newspaper may get type(ink) in your paint and change the color
