Question

I'm planning on painting my ceiling in a blue and white sky trick.
Should the base color (the darker or lighter) be in a flat, semi, gloss, or satin finish?

Hi SILLYSAM, We always use flat base(blue) if room conditions allow. What I mean by that is bedrooms get flat, sunrooms and baths would get a an eggshell base coat......Mike

Kitchen- the walls are antique white and are a semi gloss finish. What do you think.

You would have to be the judge as to whether you do enough cooking to damage the ceiling. I think you would be pleased with the flat latex in a high grade but if there is any doubt use the eggshell...Mike

SillySam:

I'm also planning on painting my ceiling in the sky trick. Have you painted yours yet? If so, how did it turn out?
