Question

What is the best type of cleaning solution to use on alumiunim siding to rid it of old paint and prep it for new paint and what is the most effective type of paint to use for durability? I live in the midwest therefore I have a variety of weather conditions to consider!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could rent a pressure washer and wash the siding, scrape any loose paint, even feather the edges of the loose paint with sandpaper if you wish or you could get a scrub brush on a pole and a product called TSP (at pro paint stores) and follow the directions. I wouldn't worry with removal of the paint that is still adhered. A good paint to use for this would be Sherwin Williams Superpaint, you can't beat the durability. They also have a liftime guarantee paint called Duration, and is quite expencive. There A-100 would be my next choice.
