Question

I have a built in cupboard with a wooden counter top. It gets heavy use and the last enamel paint job I did has not worn well. I would like to use an oil-based semigloss enamel, but when I was at the Home Depot tonight, I only found oil-based sealer and exterior paint. Also, is alkyd similar in wear and durability to oil-based? There was a singular absence of people to ask at the store, so I thougt I'd try this forum. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

kstarr, HD should have semi-gloss oil. Alkyd and oil refer to the same thing as far as house paint go. You may want to consider a porch and deck oil enamel. There are many nice colors in this material now.....Mike
