Question

I recently had drywall installed and finished in my basement. I ran a shop vac over the drywall to remove as much drywall dust that I could. If I run my hand across the drywall I still pick up additional drywall dust. How critical is it to remove all of the drywall dust prior to the application of my 1st coat of drywall primer?
If this is critical, any suggestions as to a good method of removing the dust?

Thanks!!

I use a kitchen broom to knock off the dust. If you are going to roll the primer, then it is good enough now to prime it.

If you are going to spray, then you may want to use a big damp sponge to remove the rest, but I would recomend rolling drywall, at least the primer coat.
