Paint new steel garage door
I have a fairly new Clopay steel double garage door that needs to be painted. I live near Toronto, Canada so the temperatures can swing dramatically from summer to winter. The door faces south-east and is directly exposed to sun for about half the day. Please advise on type of primer (if necessary), appropriate equipment and type of paint. Thanks (eh)!

Did the door come from the factory preprimed or not?
If not, and its just bare or galvanized metal, it needs to be prepped specifically for metal before priming.
If its preprimed, which I assume it is, I would clean it off, removing grease, dirt, etc and prime it with a 100% acrylic primer, and then top coat it with any good exterior latex or acrylic paint of your choice.
Remember, dark colors will fade quickly in the sun.
